The Kids Skate Free Club is a program managed by Hownd in partnership with the Roller Skating Association. The program provides customers with free roller skating passes at participating rinks. There is a small recurring annual subscription fee per child from Hownd to cover the cost of managing the program, while the free passes are provided throughout the year, every single week, from partnering roller skating rinks.
For Parents - Important note: The Roller Skating Association/Roller Skating Foundation DOES NOTmanage the program, make account credits, or manage the app. If you have questions about charges to your credit card, technical difficulties, or other questions, you will need to contact Hownd directly at [email protected] as they manage the program.
For Rink Owners: The Kids Skate Free Club (KSFC) provides families with an easy way to get out and enjoy healthy physical activity. With the Kids Skate Free Club, you can create a consistent cycle of foot traffic that keeps your skating centers as an important part of the local community. Register each child with their birthdate.
Pay the recurring annual membership club subscription fee of $5.99 per child.
Upon completing member registration & payment, you'll receive an email receipt.
Access Your Passes with MyHownd
Download MyHownd and sign up using the email address that you used to register for Kids Skate Free
Your passes will show up in the My Promos section and in your MyHownd Wallet.
Kids Skate Free passes are only valid for one week.
Please note that rinks have age limits and passes will only be generated for eligible children.
Redeem Your Passes for Fun
When you arrive at your skate center, open your MyHownd app, activate the pass and mark it as redeemed while at the front desk.
After you redeem it, it will show up in your redeemed promos.

Terms and Conditions
By registering for the Kids Skate Free Club, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child being registered and that you agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions.
Program Overview: The Kids Skate Free Club is a subscription-based program that provides registered children with access to roller skating sessions at participating roller rinks, subject to availability, rink rules, and these Terms & Conditions. Program participation, pass issuance, and verification are administered through the free MyHownd mobile application. Kids Skate Free does not own, operate, or control participating roller rinks.
Eligibility & Parental Responsibility: You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to register a child. You represent and warrant that you are the parent or legal guardian of the registered child. You accept full responsibility for the child’s behavior, supervision, and safety at all times while participating in the program or attending any skating session. Kids Skate Free does not provide supervision, instruction, or childcare services.
Child Information & Age Verification: By registering, you represent and warrant that all information provided, including the child’s name, date of birth, and age, is accurate, complete, and truthful. Kids Skate Free and participating roller rinks may request reasonable proof of age or identity at any time. Any misrepresentation may result in immediate suspension or termination of access without refund.
Pass Allocation & Usage: Each registered child may receive up to two (2) skating passes per week, which are issued digitally through the free MyHownd app. All passes are non-transferable, have no cash value, and do not roll over if unused. Pass availability is subject to rink capacity, operating hours, and participation. Rink schedules, hours, and participation may change at any time without notice.
Maximum Age Limit: Pass generation will automatically cease once the child exceeds the maximum eligible age for the program. This applies regardless of any remaining time in an active subscription term. No refunds, credits, or extensions will be issued once a child becomes age-ineligible.
Use of the MyHownd App: Participation in the program requires use of the free MyHownd mobile application. You agree to download, install, and maintain access to the app for pass generation, verification and check-in, and program access. Entry to skating sessions requires digital passes displayed within the app. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Kids Skate Free is not responsible for access issues caused by device incompatibility, deleted applications, or user error.
Subscription & Recurring Payments: Memberships are sold as an annual recurring subscription. By enrolling, you authorize automatic recurring charges to your selected payment method until the subscription is properly canceled. Subscription fees are non-refundable, except where required by applicable law. To stop recurring charges, the customer must email [email protected]. Cancellation requests must be received before the next billing date. Failure to provide notice does not constitute cancellation.
Parent Responsibility to Cancel: It is the sole responsibility of the parent or legal guardian to monitor the child’s age eligibility and cancel the subscription when the child exceeds the maximum eligible age. Kids Skate Free is not responsible for charges incurred due to failure to cancel.
Non-Refundable Membership: Once a membership has been used, including the issuance of any passes, it is strictly non-refundable. No refunds, credits, or partial reimbursements will be issued for any reason, including age ineligibility, unused passes or unused membership time, voluntary non-use of the program, or a participating roller rink suspending or ceasing participation. Kids Skate Free does not guarantee the continued participation of any specific rink or location.
Rink Rules, Conduct & Removal: Participants must comply with all rink rules, policies, and staff instructions, and rink staff retain sole authority over their premises. Participating roller rinks may, at their sole discretion, refuse entry, remove a child from the skating floor or premises, or temporarily or permanently suspend participation due to unsafe skating behavior or disruptive, abusive, or aggressive conduct by the child or accompanying adult. No refunds or compensation will be provided in such cases.
Health, Safety & Assumption of Risk: Roller skating is an inherently risky activity that may result in injury. You knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks on behalf of the child and confirm that the child is physically fit to participate. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kids Skate Free disclaims liability for injuries, accidents, or losses occurring at participating rinks.
Suspension or Termination: Kids Skate Free may suspend or terminate access at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms & Conditions, misuse of the program or app, a request from a participating rink, or legal, regulatory, or safety concerns.
Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kids Skate Free shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages. Total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the current subscription term.
Communications Consent: By registering, you consent to communications from Kids Skate Free, Hownd, participating roller rinks, and affiliated programs using the contact information you provide. Communications may include program updates, account information, and promotional messages. You may opt out of promotional emails at any time. Transactional communications may continue as necessary for program operation. Text messaging consent is not a condition of purchase, and message and data rates may apply.
Payment Authorization, Recurring Billing & Chargeback Policy: By submitting payment, you authorize Kids Skate Free to charge the credit or debit card provided, including recurring subscription charges. You represent and warrant that you are the authorized cardholder or have explicit authorization to use the card. You acknowledge immediate delivery of digital services, including app access and pass issuance. You agree not to initiate chargebacks or disputes for authorized charges. Kids Skate Free may provide these Terms & Conditions, acceptance records, billing history, and usage logs to card networks to contest disputes. Unjustified chargebacks may result in account termination.
