Saturday, April 30

Life Member Reception/Dinner 

Room: Seminole D & E - Ticketed Event
7 - 10 p.m. 
Every year, the RSA honors those individuals who have been given lifetime achievement awards, honors, and accolades with a private reception and dinner. This year, we will be honoring Jeff Ingrum on receiving the RSA’s Life Member award for 2022 and Jim Dvorak on being inducted into the RSA Hall of Fame. The event is by invitation only, but members may contact Angela Tanner at 317-347-2626 Ext. 102 or atanner@rollerskating.com if they would like to purchase tickets to attend.


Sunday, May 1

Get CPR Certified

Room: Seminole D
10 a.m. - 12 p.m. 
Join Sharon & Chris McMahon for this annual seminar, where you will learn how to perform CPR in the event of an emergency at your skating center. Once complete, participants will receive three credit hours and their CPR certification (or re-certification) from Danville Area Community College with certification mailed after the event is complete. If you haven’t been certified since the last convention, you are expired and will need to get re-certified at this event.

First Aid Certification with the National Safety Council

Room: Seminole D
12 p.m. - 2 p.m.
Whether you have a child fall a break a limb, an adult having a heart-related issue, or you’re dealing with everyday bumps and bruises, injuries at your rink can sometimes be a little scary. We want you to be prepared for these situations by knowing the basics in first aid treatment. Come learn what to do in these situations to provide the best care for your customers. Members will receive their certification or re-certification (required every two years) from Danville Area Community College with certification mailed after the event. If you haven’t been certified since the last convention, you are expired and will need to get re-certified at this event. 

Learn to Skate Seminar with Coaching Certification 

Room: Seminole D or E
2 - 4 p.m. 
Do you want to learn how to teach customers how to roller skate and get certified as a Learn to Skate coach? Interested in becoming a speed, artistic, or hockey coach or official with American Roller Sports? Make sure that you bring your staff so they can get certified!

Monday, May 2

Member Breakfast & Ballot Collection

Room: Seminole Lobby
7:30 - 8:30 a.m. 
Grab your breakfast and pick up your ballots from an RSA Staff or Board Member at the designated tables so that you may vote on the constitutional amendment up for question. 

General Assembly

Room: Seminole C
8:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Grab something to eat and then head on over to the General Assembly to receive updates on the current state of the RSA and share in the excitement of honoring the winners of the RSA’s most recent and prestigious awards. This event is open to all members, regardless of whether or not they have paid to attend the convention or trade show. The RSA Executive Director will cast the unanimous vote for RSA President/Vice President and members will vote on the constitutional amendment up for a vote. 

Chapter Lunches

Room: TBD - Delegates, bring your tickets
11:30 - 1 p.m. 
This lunch requires a ticket to attend (provided to paying delegates at check-in). Sit down with members from your local chapter of the RSA and discuss current events, hot topics, rink issues you may need suggestions to fix, etc. Each section has its own tables, so just grab some food and mingle!

Keynote Presentation with Shawn Rhodes - Bulletproof Selling

1:15 - 2:30 p.m.
Shawn Rhodes leveraged his former life as a war correspondent to become an international expert in how the best teams continuously improve pipelines and performance. He’s a Tampa-based TEDx speaker and his work studying teams in more than two dozen countries – some of the most dangerous places on the planet – has been published in news outlets including TIME, CNN, NBC, Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, and INC. His clients have included Deloitte, ConAgra, John Deere, and dozens of similar businesses. Shawn is also a nationally-syndicated columnist with the Business Journals and author of the books Pivot Point: Turn On A Dime Without Sacrificing Results, Universal. Shawn will be interviewing rink owners across the country prior to his presentation in order to tailor the presentation specifically for your skating centers and your selling methodologies. 

Rink Security - Keeping Your Staff and Customers Safe

Join Detective Ralph Dunham for this special seminar on rink security. How to handle large crowds, details to pay attention to when customers arrive and are in your building, what to do in case of an emergency, how much security is enough, how to handle unruly customers, and much more. 


Best Practices for Performance Management With Your Team with Beth Standlee of Trainertainment

Training is never a one-time event. Coaching, growing and specifically managing the right people to do the right things at the right time is key to providing a great guest experience for your internal and external guests. 

Why You Should Be Using the STEM Program In Your Rink

Did you know that many skating centers using the United Skate STEM Program can bring in an excess of over $100,000 every year? With over 100 rinks utilizing the program, you'll get to learn why they invested in this K-12 Turnkey Program, complete with several lesson plans per grade, videos, marketing materials, training, regular meetings with the United Skates team, and much more. We can not stress enough the magnitude of growth that this program can have for your skating center and we encourage you to join us to learn more about it.

The Pacer parties are always a huge hit with members with great food, entertainment, and fun. Come join the Pacer team for a fun and festive evening with your fellow members and bid on some exciting items up for auction from the Roller Skating Foundation.

The International Amusement and Leisure Defense Association, Inc. is a non-profit association of lawyers and other professionals who are actively engaged in representing the interests of the amusement and leisure industries. President's Dinner and Reception

Don’t miss your last chance to eat, drink and dance the night away with your fellow rink operators at this formal event celebrating the RSA President, the roller skating industry, and those who contribute to it. Plus, make sure to grab a raffle ticket from your RSA Board Member or National Museum of Roller Skating Trustees at their trade show booth to win a giant raffle at the end of the night. Raffle tickets are just $50 each. Members who attend will be treated to a special performance by Berritt Haynes and Carson Peters, both of whom were featured on team Blake of The Voice! Members will also be treated to a comedy show by RSA member and famous comedian, Terry Harris of SK8 City Jacksonville.

Universal Studios Educational Scavenger Hunt

Not a group event. Head to Universal Studios at any time. 
All Day Event - Ticketed Event
Members who want to visit Universal Studios may do so on Thursday! We will have a little scavenger hunt sheet giving you an opportunity to enjoy the park with the benefit of a tax write-off. This will be a ticketed event. Fees will apply. Purchase your ticket when purchasing your convention registration.
