Who We Are and What We Do

Throughout this website, you'll learn about a number of different organizations, including the Roller Skating Association. Here's a quick rundown of who we are, but you're welcome to download the following booklet that explains about the programs offered by the RSA, member rinks, and more. 

• Roller Skating Association International (RSA): The international trade association for roller skating rink owners throughout the world.
• Kids Skate Free Club (KSF): A program from the RSA to promote free roller skating at participating rinks throughout the country.  
• Roller Skating Foundation (RSF): A 501(c)3 corporation operated exclusively to raise money for educational programs, self-esteem and safety programs, and generally promote fitness through roller skating.
• National Museum of Roller Skating: The organization created to preserve the history of roller skating. 
• American Roller Sports (ARS) : A not-for-profit organization dedicated to the development of domestic roller skating
• Society of Roller Skating Teachers of America (SRSTA): Established in 1940, the SRSTA is composed of skating coaches and instructors of all skating disciplines.
  • Learn to Skate Teachers (LTS): Certification level aimed at developing basic roller skating skills.
  • Artistic Coaches Association (ACA): Certification level of the SRSTA aimed at advancing basic roller skating skills to competitive artistic levels. 
  • Speed Coaches Association (SCA): Certification level of the SRSTA aimed at advancing basic roller skating skills to competitive speed skating levels.
  • Roller Hockey Coaches Association (RHCA): Certification level of the SRSTA aimed at advancing skaters to competitive hockey levels.
